Jefferson Forest "The solitude of a sleepy forest on a winter's day fills one's soul with the beauty of Mother Nature's serenity.” – Robbie George ​ 12/7/2025 - 30° Sunny ​ Took a jaunt up and around the Purple Heart Trail in Jefferson Memorial Forest. This trail has some great ridgelines and scenic views. One my way back around the trail I thought I took a wrong turn because a big cedar tree was blocking the path. I didn’t take a wrong turn, it had fallen sometime after I passed by it. Whoa.

Ran some of Yost Ridge Trail. I’ll get back to finishing that one at another time. There is construction going on at the welcome center that is going to be nice.

I hoped there would be more snow, but it was fantastic just as it was.
